almost works perfectly
I couldn’t get the 2-0 wire to fit in the 2-0 slot, nor the 4-0 wire to fit in the 4-0 slot. By going one slot larger, it worked very well. So I put the 2-0 wire in the 3-0 slot, and the 4-0 wire in the 250 MCM slot, and it removed the insulation very well. P.S. – I’m a retired builder, so I know how to use a tool like this.

Works great
I tried a coworker’s and was instantly hooked. I strip mostly 3/0 so I removed the other stripping heads (1 set screw each) to lighten it, and so that I can look inside the tool and see exactly how far I’ve stripped. Bonus – in this state, it can also be used as a tool for making sharp bends in wire (just stick the wire through and crank on it with the rounded edges of the tool). Makes very clean ends with no damage to the conductors and saves your wrist a bit as well. If you strip a lot of big wire, you’ll love this thing. Also I read a review that says it doesn’t work well on simpull wire due to the lubricated outer jacket – well I am here to say that you can strip that stuff no problem once you get the hang of it. I was getting caught up on the jacket at first, but by my fifth wire or so I had figured out how to get it goings, so fear not if you too are a simpull user

Works great
Cuts down on time and effort installing electrical services, a few twists and the wire is stripped perfectly to the right length. Better than trying to use a pair of strippers and a box cutter, which is what we were doing before we bought this.

Ehhh
Good idea but I can’t get it to really strip. I find myself still going back to my knife. Won’t really catch the jacket and ends up getting stuck when it does.

very uncomfortable
will not go on 4/0 urd insulation wire

Beats using a razor blade.
Beats using a razor blade by a mile. Works great though I question the accuracy of the sizing. I had tho use the 250 mcm hole to strip 4/0 cable. Still worked great but the cable wouldn’t fit in the 4/0 hole.

amazing
much better grip than the DeWalt wire stripper which sometimes does not grab the insulation, this thing will grab on every attempt.

Not a fan
I am an Underground Lineman. I bought both strippers. On the small stripper for the secondary, I had to use the 3/0 slot to strip the 2/0 cable, and the 250mcm to strip the 4/0 because the wire was too large for the holes. These are both Prysmian and General Cable brand insulated secondary wire.On the larger cables, same brand, the 350mcm hole on this tool is way too small for the cable… So I returned it.I guess there are different sizes diameters for different brands of cable. Maybe some wires have more insulation than others, because I went up to an electrician who was installing both 2/0 and 4/0 wire, and both of his wires worked perfectly in my stripper. Either way, Klein should be ahead of the ball game and have their ducks in a row because they are supposed to be the industry standard for line work. On top of that, these were pretty pricey at $60 a piece. I wouldn’t buy again.

Handy tool
I’m a residential electrician and this one tool replaces 2 tools when doing services. It’s faster and easier to work with verses a knife and linemans. Makes a cleaner strip too. Very handy.

It’s a KLEIN TOOL!
I Love the 4 sizes in one tool, I love that you can change the blades, I also love that it’s a lite tool to use. The blades are sharp, I’ve had a chance to use it on 600 and 750 and it saved me such a hassle.

So so at best.
Really just isn’t good. Cuts weren’t clean. Size was somewhat off… Didn’t like its use… Figured for 60 or so dollars it would work a little better than it did… Does help get the job done better than a good razor but not worth the purchase to me. I returned it.

Dose what it is supposed to and saves my fingers and knife
It makes continues terminations very easy and uniform I like how easy it was to use and the clean look one it’s done

God send
there is nothing to dislike about this tool it does just what i needed it to do. It easy enough to use that a 10 y o could peel a heavy cable and not get injured. ten times faster than a box cutter .

works, not happy
Received stripper. Placed in work truck (that is where it gets from job to job) and right away two screws disappeared that hold the individual wire size collets in place! Apparently Loctite was un available during assembly! Now we are trying to find replacement screws.

Not really worth it.
Works okay to skin cable how ever it leaves an uneven edge. Tried to pre score the stop point but it goes right past it. For what I paid for it I guess I was expecting more.

Not for me.
I’m a licensed Master Electrician & all my hand tools are Klein. This tools looks like it should work (& perhaps the smaller version will work) but it did a terrible job on Southwire SIMpull 500 MCM copper. The PVC insulation on SIMpull has an overall nylon jacket that makes it slick & easy to pull. That same nylon jacket makes it awfully difficult to strip with this tool. In the time it took me to strip one end with this tool my helper had three ends stripped with a razor knife. YMMV.

Ringer not a stripper
Its got potential still getting used to it.

If your wire fits, it strips.
350 die does not accept 350mcm UD Triplex aluminum wire, wire is too large. It kind of worked with the 500 die but hardly and was a pain. They do not make a 400 die. If it fits your wire size it works great.

Professional Tools for Professional Tradesmen!
I’ve been using a utility knife to strip the insulation from heavy conductors for as long as I’ve been an electrician. No more! This cable stripper makes stripping heavy wire quick and easy. The tool is a little pricey, but it’s built to last a lifetime. Klein tools are the professional’s choice!

Ok
This tool really depends on the insulation type and you may have to shave the end to get it to fit. It does not fit all gauges it describes because of the sheathing. I was a bit disappointed. When it fits it does a nice job

works well
Just received it and tried it on, the 4 different sizes both copper and aluminum, worked great, bought it to use on overhead as well as underground terminations, I think this tool is reasonably priced, and maybe they will come out with more sizes of cutting heads,

Best money spent!
Made stripping 2/0 aluminum SE cable a breeze. Practice on a couple of scraps first and you’ll get the hang of it. Makes clean cuts with no conductor nicking to speak of.

Improper sizing
Lineman apprentice-does not fit any wire size I have ran across. Must be for narrow backs??

Don’t waste your money and time!!!
Sizes are not accurate and then stripper comes off tool easily after a few uses. Would not recommend Farwest Line Tools as a smaller and better one than this.
